About the Opportunity
A leading automotive dealership in Florida is seeking an experienced and driven Working Upfit Manager. This position is being recruited by CarGuys Inc., America/Canada's #1 automotive recruiter. The successful candidate will oversee the upfitting process of vehicles, ensuring all modifications and enhancements meet the highest standards of quality and safety, while also actively participating in the work.
Job Summary
The Working Upfit Manager will manage and actively participate in the upfitting process of vehicles. This includes managing a team of technicians, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of vehicle modifications, hands-on experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and actively participate in the complete upfitting process of vehicles, including customization and modifications.
Manage and work alongside a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high-quality work.
Coordinate with sales, service, and parts departments to ensure timely and accurate upfits.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure the best materials and services.
Ensure all upfitting work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Inspect completed work to guarantee it meets customer specifications and quality standards.
Address customer inquiries and concerns, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues promptly.
Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve the upfitting process.
Qualifications
Proven experience in vehicle upfitting, automotive customization, or a related field.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic and customization tools.
Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in vehicle modifications.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Automotive Technology or a related field is preferred.
